What’s New and Improved?
Wiki Communities – A wiki is, generally speaking, a collaborative effort comprised of the collective work of more than one author – anyone may edit, delete or modify content. Now, you can create a community for this type of collaborative effort.
MiniApp - A MiniApp, or mini application, is a user-created extension that can plug into FuseTalk to create other business processes or opportunities. If you have a functionality that you want FuseTalk to apply when creating or editing a post, and you enjoy coding, you can override our default page for posting, and replace it with your own where you can have full control.
Executive-Style Reports – Are you looking for a quick assessment on the status of your forum community? These reports enable management to measure the success of its forums quickly. Simply choose the reports that you want (forum level, category level, user level, groups, and user banning), enter a date range, and FuseTalk will produce graphs and tables for you to review. Export your report to a number of different formats, including PDF, CSV, Excel, Rich Text format, and a few others.
Improved Security – FuseTalk now includes a Web Service, which allows developers remote access to the FuseTalk application for performing common tasks like creating users, communities, topics, etc. For extra security, use IIS IP restrictions to prevent any access to the service from the public internet. Additionally, input validation has been introduced around all methods in FuseTalk. Administrators can be assured that users will not be able to insert scripting language that could cause harm to the community.
Improved blogs – FuseTalk has enhanced some functionality for blog administrator, allowing them to move blog posts easily from one category to another. In addition, the administrator now has full access to the complete HTML editor toolbar when creating side boxes. For users, if they are members of other communities, they can now navigate between them easily through the Communities section in the side menu.
Improved User Control – Based on customer feedback, FuseTalk has introduced some improvements to some user control. These improvements include introducing column sorting in the Latest Topics page, username recovery for those members who have forgotten their username, and allowing users to view the FuseTalk RSS feeds easily through the RSS Clip in an Internet Explorer browser, just to name a few. For administrators who have permissions to edit a user’s profile, you can now do this through the Moderator Options toolbar.
Improved Global Administration – User records are now listed in the forum management interface alongside their forum name, in the event that there are multiple user records of the same user for standalone forums. User subscriptions are now listed for the global administrator to view and update accordingly.
